Mindfulness is the practice of learning to notice what is happening right here, right now without judgement. Come to the Art Room to learn more about mindfulness and how art and creative activities can help increase the ability to stay open and grounded in a given moment.

This series will occur in four sessions, every Wednesday from March 13th to April 3rd. Join art focused CAPS counselor from 11:00am -12:00pm in the Student Health and Wellness Art Room. Supplies will be provided. More information about the focus of individual session can be found below.

Week One: The art of noticing: learn about mindfulness and how art can increase your ability to notice things around you, participate in a noticing intervention by engaging with your surroundings

Week Two: Mindfully letting go of judgement: try a creative scribble and a writing intervention that allow space to express without judgment

Week Three: Mindful knowing: identifying emotions using art, noticing your feelings and expressing them through color, symbol, form

Week Four: Mindfulness and relaxation: experience the relaxation benefits of mindfulness by participating in a guided mindful meditation and an art intervention set to music
