CAPS Resources for Faculty & Staff

UVA faculty and staff are encouraged to reach out to CAPS! Whether it's to consult about a student you're concerned about or to discuss a noticed observation or trend, CAPS is ready to provide support. Faculty and staff can also request a CAPS outreach presentation or program for their students. CAPS can provide guest lectures, a presentation about CAPS services, or a presentation and conversation about a specific mental health topic.

CAPS encourages all UVA faculty and staff to include the below in their syllabi. Please don’t make any changes to ensure it matches the current available CAPS resources.

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) is the primary mental health clinic for students at UVA. CAPS provides a range of services, including individual therapy, group therapy, psychiatry, case management, crisis intervention, community consultation and outreach. Students can contact CAPS at (434) 243-5150 for help connecting with mental health support and deciding which services are the right fit.  Students are also encouraged to visit this PDF to view the full landscape of mental health resources available at Student Health and Wellness.
