Keila Strick, PT, DPT, CSCS, is a practicing Physical Therapist and Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist at The Fried Center for Advancement of Potential (FCAP). Keila earned her Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from the University of Virginia before pursuing her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at the University of Southern California (USC).
Currently, Keila holds the position of co-clinical director with the founding director and physical therapist, David Luedeka, at FCAP clinics. In this role, she not only manages her own caseload of patients but also mentors and instructs new cohorts of student medical fitness trainers. She also holds a position as an instructor of Psychology of Sport and Exercise at UVA’s Education School.
Keila’s journey into PT began with a ski injury at age 14, sparking her interest in the field. During high school and college, she gained valuable experience working with individuals with disabilities through nannying, camp counseling, and volunteering in Special Olympics programs. Keila joined FCAP’s inaugural class in 2016 and worked there for over 2 years, including a gap year. FCAP proved to be the perfect fit for her, combining her passion for physical activity and her desire to work with people of all abilities. Under the guidance of her mentor, David, Keila learned the significance of functional and closed chain exercise as the primary PT intervention, along with strategies for optimizing long-term outcomes through a paradigm-challenging approach. Since then, she has remained committed to this path.
During her free time, Keila enjoys engaging in competitive ultimate frisbee, exploring outdoor activities, and cherishing moments with her loved ones.
