Garreth Bartholomew joined the Care and Support Services Team in April 2023 and serves as the Graduate Assistant for Basic Needs & the Community Food Pantry as he finishes his Master of Public Policy Program at the Batten School of Leadership and Public Policy. In this role, Garreth helps to facilitate and organize the student leadership that operate the Community Food Pantry during the Fall and Spring semesters, helping serve thousands of food insecurity students, staff, and faculty throughout a school year.

Garreth helps to analyze both the quantitative data and qualitative stories that help elucidate the impact the Pantry has on our clients. In partnership with Madeline Casper, Garreth has assisted in restarting the Food Insecurity Resource Group, providing an outlet for systemic problem-solving to food inaccessibility across Grounds.

Outside of his role at CASS, Garreth also works at the Student Disability Resource Center at Student Health and Wellness.  Garreth graduated UVA in 2023 with a BA in Government and Environmental Thought & Practice. He was an Echols Scholar and Tadler Undergraduate Fellow.
