Sexual Harm Prevention

The University of Virginia is dedicated to preventing sexual harm in our community through a comprehensive range of services, programs, and evidence-based interventions. Beginning in the summer of 2025, we will offer 24/7 crisis advocacy for any student who has experienced sexual harm, including secondary survivors.

Additionally, our professional staff and peer health educators facilitate programs on healthy relationships, communication, consent, sexual health, and supporting survivors of sexual harm. Through these efforts, we aim to foster a culture of care and sexual respect.

At the core of our work is the principle of sexual respect—affirming every individual’s right to make informed choices about their body, identity, and sexuality. We are dedicated to building a community founded on respect, open communication, and healthy relationships.
