About

What is TimelyCare? CAPS partnered with TimelyCare in the fall of 2021 to offer UVA students 24/7 virtual, wraparound mental health care at no cost*. Students do not need insurance to access TimelyCare. Through this partnership, each academic year students will have access to:

  • TalkNow: 24/7, on-demand access to a mental health professional to talk about anything at any time. Students can connect to TalkNow within minutes to discuss any level of concern, from conflicts with roommates to more serious mental health crises.

  • Scheduled Counseling: 12 scheduled telehealth counseling visits with a licensed mental health provider, either in Virginia or the rest of the U.S.

  • Psychiatry: Scheduled appointments available through referral by CAPS or a TimelyCare counselor. As of 10/16/23: Students must cancel at least 24 hours before their scheduled TimelyCare psychiatry appointment to avoid a “Late Cancellation/No-Show Charge” of $200.

  • Group Sessions: Weekly Guided Meditation and Yoga Group sessions, plus specialized discussions throughout the year.

  • Self-Care Journeys: On-demand tools and resources designed to guide students on the journey to health and well-being. From yoga sessions to quick-and simple recipes and audio meditations, these easy-to-use assets have been designed to help manage everyday struggles and stress.

  • Peer Community:  TimelyCare app provides Peer Community, an anonymous peer-to-peer support. Students can use Peer Community as a supportive space to connect with other students across the country who face similar challenges. Peer-to-peer support is not a substitute for counseling from a licensed mental health provider. However, it can be a helpful resource that students can use to experience support from peers.
