Laura Wagner, PhD
Laura Wagner is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist. Laura received her B.A. from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. She received a Master’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Colorado and received her Ph.D. from the University of Massachusetts, Boston. Laura completed her pre-doctoral and post-doctoral clinical training at Duke University and completed training in trauma focused therapy at Harvard Medical School’s Victims of Violence program. She worked extensively at the VA Medical Center with veterans diagnosed with Posttraumatic Stress Disorder related to both sexual and physical trauma as well as combat related trauma. Laura’s clinical interests focus on the treatment of Major Depression and Posttraumatic Stress disorder as well as complicated grief reactions. She is trained in evidence-based psychotherapies for trauma related conditions as well as depression and anxiety disorders. Laura taught a course on the treatment of trauma at the University of Virginia and has published in the fields of professional ethics in psychology and in psychotherapy outcomes research. Laura’s clinical interests are also related to the integration of psychodynamic, relational and interpersonal psychotherapies with evidence based therapy treatments. In her non-professional life, Laura spends her time enjoying long-distance running and yoga as well as spending time with her family.
