Elisabeth "Libby" Gioia, M.S.

Elisabeth, "Libby," is a doctoral psychology intern at CAPS and a fourth year Psy.D. student. She is originally from upstate New York, and obtained her B.A. in Psychology at Stony Brook University. She received her M.S. in Clinical Psychology at Loyola University, and completed her doctoral studies at Carlow University in Pittsburgh, PA. Her clinical interests include working with survivors of complex trauma, anxiety disorders, post-traumatic stress disorder, as well as working with those from diverse backgrounds. She utilizes a process-oriented approach in session with clients through an integrative lens. Her approach includes interpersonal, psychodynamic and Dialectical Behavior Therapy tools and techniques. She believes in working with the whole person in session, paying close attention to any and all aspects of identity that are important to the client and their work.
