Matt is the Director of Training at CAPS, where he oversees doctoral interns in an American Psychological Association accredited program and doctoral level practicum students. He received his doctorate in clinical psychology from Nova Southeastern University 's Center for Psychological Studies, completed his internship at the University of Massachusetts at Amherst. and his postdoctoral residency at the Renfrew Center in Coconut Creek, FL. He is Board Certified in Clinical Psychology. His areas of interest include eating issues and body image concerns, relational difficulties and clinical training. He has taught courses on body image and eating concerns, conceptual foundations in psychology, and interviewing techniques for the past 20 years. Matt focuses on training issues in psychology and advocacy for training in mental health access through leadership activities, as Past President of the Broward County Psychological Association and The Association of Counseling Center Training Agenceis (ACCTA). Matt is the author of a book, Choosing a Psychotherapist: A Guide to Navigating the Mental Health Maze. In his spare time, he enjoys spending time with his family, engaged in singing/composing activities, or various outdoor and athletic pursuits.
