Bio

Kristin Roush joined Student Disability Access Center in January 2021 and serves as the d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing Coordinator and Accessibility Specialist.

She coordinates services, provides outreach, and promotes access for D/deaf and hard-of-hearing students, faculty, staff, and visitors for University-sponsored courses, programs, meetings, and events.  As an accessibility specialist, she works to implement accommodations and other services for students with disabilities and facilitates communication and collaboration between students, faculty, and staff at the University to ensure that these accommodations are met.  

In 2015, she came to the University of Virginia School of Education and Human Development as clinical faculty where her primary area of focus included adult and pediatric diagnostic services within the clinic and teaching of Introduction to Audiology and Introduction to Aural (Re)Habilitation courses. Before moving to Charlottesville, she was a clinical educator at Gallaudet University in Washington, D.C where she supervised graduate students in the provision of audiological services, taught advanced hearing aid topics, supported clinical research, and coordinated externships. 

Dr. Roush earned her BS in Communication Sciences and Disorders from West Virginia University and her Ph.D., in Audiology from James Madison University in 2004.
