Kristen is a registered dietitian, practicing dietetics in the Charlottesville area since 2004. She received her bachelor’s degree in Human Ecology with a concentration in food, nutrition, and dietetics from Tennessee Technological University in Cookeville, TN. She completed her dietetic internship and received her Master’s degree in Clinical Nutrition from East Tennessee State University in Johnson City, TN. She previously worked in adult inpatient rehab (strokes, traumatic brain injuries, spinal cord injuries) for 14 years at UVA-Encompass Health Rehab Hospital. More recently, she worked as a bariatric (weight loss surgery) dietitian at UVA Health System for 2.5 years where she gained experience with disordered eating, eating disorders, and negative body image. This is where Kristen became passionate about working with people to strengthen their relationship with food and their body. She started at UVA Student Health and Wellness in January 2022. Kristen provides nutrition counseling to students from a Health at Every Size® (HAES®) lens with a goal of working towards honoring and listening to our bodies in eating and movement. 

Kristen is married with 3 daughters (and a golden retriever named Pearl) and enjoys cooking, hiking, road biking, running, and reading.
