Bio

Jill Maurer joined the Gordie Center December 2015 and currently serves as Assistant Director.

Ms. Maurer’s role includes engaging with our donors and families impacted by hazing and alcohol overdose as the Gordie Center's development officer, as well as stewarding gifts that fund the Gordie Center's programs and initiatives. She plays an integral role in program creation and educational product development. Ms. Maurer creates all marketing and communication efforts for the Gordie Center, including supervising our student social media assistant and managing our brand. She also oversees the sale of Gordie Center educational materials and serves on the University of Virginia's Hazing Prevention Advisory Committee. Ms. Maurer regularly speaks at national conferences, colleges, high schools, and community groups as an expert in hazing prevention, alcohol overdose prevention, peer education, and bystander intervention.

Ms. Maurer earned a Bachelor's degree in psychology from the University of Virginia, where as an undergraduate, she founded and chaired the Alcohol and Drug Abuse Prevention Team (ADAPT) peer education group.
