Bea received her “Licenciatura en Psicología” (Bachelor’s Degree), and “Título Profesional de Psicólogo” (Psychologist Professional Degree) from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Chile. After working as a clinical psychologist in Chile for five years, she moved to the US and earned a M.Ed. from The Pennsylvania State University, and a MS and PhD from the University of Maryland - College Park. She completed a Post Internship/Postdoctoral Psychology Residency at the University of Missouri - Columbia, Counseling Center. Her areas of clinical/research interests include attachment, trauma, multicultural and diversity issues, supervision and training, group therapy, the therapeutic relationship, and psychotherapy process and outcome. Bea approaches therapy mainly from a psychodynamic (relational, attachment) perspective, considering multicultural and diversity factors, and also incorporates mindfulness and DBT skills in her work. In her free time, Bea enjoys hiking, traveling, and meeting with friends and family.
