Barbara Zunder joined Student Health & Wellness in January 2016 and serves as the Director of the Student Disability Access Center.

In this role, she provides leadership and managerial direction for the department. She works collaboratively with a multitude of other departments at the University, such as General Counsels Office and Equal Opportunity & Civil Rights. She serves on many collaborative committees, such as the Disability Advocacy Committee, Barrier-Free Access Committee, and the Athletics Advisor Council. As part of this role, she also serves on the Leadership team of Student Health & Wellness, where she provides direction related to policies and stewardship of the department as a whole. She also serves as a founding member of the Board of Directors of the Virginia Higher Education Accessibility Partners (VHEAP), including serving as Chair of the Board from 2022-2023.
