Come join the Student Engagement in Newcomb's Main Lounge to write affirmations, gratitude, and greeting cards. This activity will be all day on Thursday 12/1. 

Lighting of the Lawn

Time: 7:00 PM - 9:00 PM (Doors open at 6:00 PM)

Student organizers settled on the theme “Full Power” for this year’s Lighting of the Lawn in August to recognize that the past few years at UVA have been challenging, in part, because of COVID-19.

“This theme was really originally intended to acknowledge that this would be our first year back to that new normal, back to the UVA that a lot of us had known in the pre-COVID years, and sort of a celebration of that,” Arif said. “So now we’re reorienting ‘Full Power’ to mean that it is only together and only as a community that we are able to have this full power, this full power to love, this full power to remember, the full power to offer the light.”

Join UPC as it hosts its annual Winter Hooville event.  Hot chocolate, gingerbread house making, blanket making, origami, and more!  Stick around for a screening of how the Grinch Stole Christmas.

World Cup Final Viewing Party

Location: Newcomb Hall South Meeting Room

Come watch the World Cup 2022 Final in Newcomb Hall's South Meeting Room! There will be food/refreshments available. This event is supported by the Office of Vice Provost for Global Affairs, the International Studies Office, Student Affairs, and the International Student Citizen Leaders Fellowship. Registrations are not required. Drop in/stay as you please.

Photo Challenge

Kick off the holiday season by submitting a photo for our photo contest.  Take a photo with someone who has made this semester special for you.  Wear an ugly sweater to make the photos truly festive. Tag #HoosFortheHolidays and @uvastudentengagement to enter your photos into the competition.
