Fall 2018 HiR Social Events
Food/event cost covered by the UVA Parents Fund!
Wednesday, October 31st, 7-10pm
Come on out to the 2018 HiR Halloween Bash for some creepy-crawly fun! Enjoy novelty Halloween snacks, atmospheric music, and candy goody-bags at an eerily-adorned HiR House. Screening of a classic horror film, John Carpenter's "Halloween," begins at 8 PM. Other spooky activities include pumpkin painting and the murder-mystery board game, Clue. Perhaps best of all, you are invited to wear a costume of your choice. We'd love to see you all there!
Friday, November 16th, 6-9pm
Come celebrate Friendsgiving with your fellow HiRers! Relax, enjoy, and eat some good food with great company before heading home for the holiday. In traditional Friendsgiving fashion, we’ll be serving turkey, gravy, and stuffing, along with a vegetarian option. Look forward to a low-stress evening of games and music. Bring yourself and a side dish to share (if you can)!
Fall 2018 Meetings
(first meeting August 27!)
Free food and a community that "gets it"!
Come meet and hang out with other HiRers. No RSVP needed. Not sure what to expect? It's very casual and low-key. There is some time for brief introductions and then checking in about how the last week has gone. Check-in is followed by a recovery-related reading and discussion. You can share as much or as little as you'd like, and you don't need to prepare anything in advance. Meetings are held at the HiR House at 506 Valley Road and parking is available in the driveway! We hope to see you there!
